The traditional Christmas lunch in Frederik IV’s hall at the historic royal palace Koldinghus

The traditional Christmas lunch in Frederik IV’s Hall at the historic Koldinghus Royal Palace once again provided the setting for an unforgettable evening. The hall was filled, and the buzz of anticipation was replaced by solemn excitement as the march-in began. Wearing red robes, the orders order moved into the hall to the tunes of The Head Bagpipe Player Jespers’ bagpipes. Leading the way was Headmaster of Ceremonies Torben Juel Møller, followed by The Head Nurse Ulla Wiese, The Head Druid Anette Rehn Thisted, Order Campaign Writer Preben Højbæk, Order grandmaster Viggo Frydenborg Schantz, The Head Campaign Writer Cathrine Reinert and Master of Ceremonies emeritus Lars P. Henriksen. The moment was immortalized by The Head Photographer Rita Frydenborg Schantz.

Headmaster of Ceremonies Torben warmly welcomed the gathering and guided them through the evening’s menu and proceedings, after which Order grandmaster Viggo shared news from the Royal Collection Koldinghus and the Koldinghus Order. The appetizers were on the tables and were followed by a delicious take-your-own table with exquisite dishes. All this was accompanied by frothy draft beer, intoxicating brandy and delicious white and red wine, which together sparked both smiles and conversations. The atmosphere really rose when Kolding’s long-time mayor Per Bødker Andersen took the stage with ingenious stories, songs and music, beautifully accompanied by his son, Peter Bødker Andersen. Laughter echoed between the old stone walls, and the sense of community grew in step with the notes.

The evening rounded off in classic fashion with risalamande, beer and wine, lively chatter at the tables and a humorous Christmas story told by The Head Campaign Writer Cathrine. With warm cheeks, light hearts and good memories, the guests left Frederik IV’s hall – full of both food and Christmas spirit.
